Readings for this Sunday:
Mathew 13
On August 25th we heard a sermon about “Holiday” as most people in the UK are on it during that week. The preacher spoke about how God rested on the 7th day of creation after creating the entire universe. Looking at this in a deeper sense, we as chrisitans are called to carry out God’s work here on earth through a variety of methods but as most of us well know, we can stretch ourselves too thin, or accrue too many obligations that eventually cause us to crash, burn and need a…holiday. Sometimes we need to take a holiday in order for us to be on the top of our game allowing us to be more successful in sharing the good news of the gospel, helping others, and living our lives as Jesus asks us. I found this a timely sermon as we begin to wind down the summer months and prepare for the start of the school year and the activities that come with it.
