Sermon Response 9/1/19

Readings for this Sunday:

Luke 14. 1,7-11

The sermon on 10/1/19 was about “Retreat” the pastor has just returned from his sabbatical after three months of traveling across the nation. The theme of today’s sermon was not about retreat as in you must retreat back from something, but more so of the retreat as you retreat to the monastery or to the countryside estate to have bible study and dive deeper into what the scripture tells us,  how are we living in the image of Christ, and how can we share God’s love, God’s work, and God’s message. This theme follows the previous weeks theme of holiday, examining that sometimes we need to take care of ourselves, reinvest in christ ourselves before we are able to effectively help other people.

  1. Thanks, Ryan. I liked this article. I had a great trip to Oxford Summer Theology School at Christ Church and also visited the church where Thomas Cranmer was tried. I wrote an article for the a Clearwater Tribune. Maybe you will write some more for the local paper:)… I saw Pr. Craig yesterday who made mention of you at our pastors monthly textstudy in Lewiston at the Blue Lantern.
